Whitney R. Sims is an author, former educator, business owner, and YouTube content creator. Her favorite titles, however, are wife to Kendrick and mom to Kairo. Born and raised in Haines City, Whitney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies from Warner University and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.
Whitney began her journey in education in 2008 as a substitute teacher before stepping into the classroom full time in 2012. Over the span of more than a decade, she taught Kindergarten and 1st grade, developing a deep love for early childhood education and student success. Her experience later led her to launch Word Wonders Online Academy, a virtual preschool that helped young learners build strong foundations for kindergarten through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.
A passionate community advocate, Whitney is the founder and creator of the Haines City Children’s Literacy & Arts Festival, an annual event that celebrates reading, creativity, and cultural connection for families and children. In recognition of her impact as an entrepreneur and mother, Whitney was crowned Ms. Mompreneur 2024, a title that reflects her dedication to blending purpose, passion, and family in her work.
Education, community, and creativity are the cornerstones of Whitney’s journey and she continues to build spaces where children, families, and educators can grow and thrive together.
